We're gonna make this place your home
About Richard and Dana Irby
Richard and Dana have both been in the hospitality industry for more than thirty years! After raising their three boys, they took a leap of faith and purchased Full Moon Farm in February 2017. With a desire to “stop and smell the roses” and to find a balance between work and nature. And, the cottages gave them an opportunity to share their desire to entertain and host guests from around the world. Richard is enjoying his time refining his wood working skills and Dana loves tending to their horse, two dogs, chickens, gardening and cooking.
We fell in love with this little farm for it’s incredible views! And, while it’s close to Julian and Pine Hills Road, the expansive open space around us gives you the feeling that you are in your own private retreat. The oaks, manzanitas, flowering trees and abundance of lilacs give you a sense of peace.
What makes this cottage unique
The farm is close to all that Julian, Wynola and Ramona have to offer. We encourage you to explore William Heise park known for it’s forests of oak, Pine and cedar surround peaceful mountain meadows and provide an undisturbed setting for miles of scenic hiking. Mule deer and wild turkey are frequently seen throughout the park.
The farm is 1.5 miles from downtown Julian. Take a step back in time to the days of Julian’s beginning rooted in the 1870’s gold rush. See where gold was discovered, shop stores housed in historic buildings dating back to the 1870’s and sample Julian’s famous apple pie, hike and picnic amid oaks and pines, ride down Main Street in a horse-drawn carriage.
Julian has an abundance of family owned and operated wineries and many offer tasting rooms and special events. We suggest, Menghini Winery, Volcan Mountain Winery, Hawk Watch Winery, Julian Wine and Chocolate, Shadow Mountain Vineyards just to name a few.
